Q Is herbal tea really Tea?
Tea comes from the plant Camellia Sinesis and always has caffeine (even the decaf versions have trace amounts of caffeine. ) A tisane is: “an infusion (as in dried herbs, spices etc). Our teas have no black, green, white, or oolong tea leaves, so they are truly herbal tisanes with no caffeine at all, unless specified.
Q Where do you source your teas?
We strive to source our herbs from the environments that they are native to. That includes direct import of tea blends and herbs foraged from local farmers; both certified organic and all natural. This ensures the sustainability of indigenous herbs while also contributing to our communities ecosystem.
Q Are your teas organic?
We source our teas and ingredients from certified organic suppliers whenever possible. However, they are always organic compliant. Meaning if the product is not listed as certified organic, it still meets the criteria for organic growing and sustainability. At Herban Tea Cafe you can rest assured that all of our teas are all natural, Non-GMO, contains no preservatives, tested for pesticides and non irradiated. Our herbs that are sourced from local farmers are always Certified Organic by either USDA, QAI or Oregon Tilth. Organic ingredients are listed with an (*) in the ingredients list.
Q Are your teas safe for me?
We do our best to use ingredients that are GRAS generally recognized as safe. However, for children, pregnant and/or nursing moms or if you are taking any medication, we strongly suggest you consult with your healthcare provider. We are thrilled that you are exploring herbal teas but it is wise to be cautious since these statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
